オーストラリアのメルボルン、今日のお天気は曇りです。
只今、13度なので少し肌寒い感じですね。
さて、今回は寿司飯の作り方のご紹介です。
と言って、日本の方々はご存知?!😳だと思いますが。。という事にして。。😅
以下を英語で説明してみようと思います。
=材料=
白米 3カップ
水 3カップ×1.2 -  大匙 4
A
米酢 大匙4
砂糖 大匙2
塩 小匙1
調味料Aは混ぜておきます。
お米を2~3回洗います。
通常、米の分量の1.2倍の水を入れて炊きますが、寿司飯の場合、お酢の量である大匙4の水を抜いて炊きます。これをすることにより、米がべたつきません。
我が家では、お米を鍋で炊いています。
炊き方は、蓋をして、始めは強火で、沸騰した泡が蓋に付く位になったら弱火にして
15分です。
ご飯が炊けたら、寿司桶にご飯を入れ、Aの調味料をかけ、切る様に混ぜます。
寿司桶がない場合は大きめのパーティー皿でも、大丈夫でした。

Part A
Rice Vinegar  4 Tbsp
Sugar 2 Tbsp
Salt 1Tsp
1 Mix the ingredients for Part A and put aside.
2 Rinse the rice a couple of times.
3 Rice is usually cooked with a ratio of 1.2 times water to rice, but in the case of sushi,  4Tbsp water is taken away - which is the same amount of rice vinegar that you’ll add back in. By doing this, the sushi rice won't be soggy.
In our household, I cook rice in a pot on the stove (as opposed to using a rice cooker). To cook rice in a pot, start with high heat, boil until the bubbles almost touch the lid, and then turn to low heat for 15 minutes. When the rice is cooked, put the rice into a large flat bowl, pour Part A seasoning, and mix it using a cutting motion. A wide wooden spatula or rice serving spoon is good for this.
If you don’t have a sushi rice bowl, a large party dish will be alright.😊

我が家でも、ホームパーティーをするときは、良く手巻き寿司をお出しします。

これだと、各自で好きなものを選んでオリジナルな巻きずしを楽しんで貰えるので好評です。
特に、ベジタリアンやビーガンの方々にも自分が食べれるものを選んで頂けるので、助かります。
私は、パーティー料理で唐揚げも良く作るのですが、これをアボカドやレタス等と一緒に手巻き寿司に入れて食べたりする方もいます。最初は違和感があったのですが、現在では日本でも色々なコンビネーションがあるし、美味しいですよね。😋 
因みに次女と夫はカニサラダのお寿司が好きです。
我が家のカニサラダはクラブスティックと玉ねぎの微塵切り、マヨネーズで作ります。

Well, this time I will introduce you to making Sushi Rice.
I think Japanese people know how to make Sushi Rice... right?! 😅 but I just thought it's good to know in English too, so I wrote it here.
The ingredients are:

When we have a party at our home, we often have hand-rolled sushi.
In that case, you can choose your own favourite ingredients and enjoy your original rolls each time.
It is usually very popular among the guests.
In particular, vegetarians and vegans can choose what they can eat too.
So easy to serve..🥰
I often cook Kara-age (Japanese deep fried chicken) at parties. People put it in hand-rolled sushi with avocado, lettuce, etc. and eat them.
When I first saw them, I felt it's strange, but nowadays I see a lot like that  in Japan too. and they are delicious. 😋 My daughter and husband love Kani Salad Sushi which is a mixture of finely chopped crab sticks, onion and mayonnaise. So simple!  So, that’s it for today. Hope you enjoy trying to make sushi rice.
